This Flora Jacket is made from a vintage wool blanket sourced from Ukraine, and features a floral design on the jewel-toned raspberry background that has some creamy pink tones throughout the contrast color. The edges, pockets, and sleeve cuffs are bound in a dusty sage petite leaf printed cotton, the inner collar in lined in a soft linen to keep the wool out of direct contact with the back neck area, and the inner front placket features a rich navy cotton/linen blend.
This style jacket features a scooped side hem, bound edges, plackets and inner collar, antique brass snaps and oversized handwarmer style pockets. This is the Flora Jacket pattern by Brightside Pattern Company that I pattern tested for them, and they were kind enough to grant me permission to make finished coats available to you! The fit is oversized through the body with slimmer arms, and a stand up collar - a truly amazing fit!
It is possible this piece shows its age in places in the form of worn, slightly discolored areas, and/or mends - these are not viewed as flaws, but rather giving it character and showing its history. This blanket has a nubby texture throughout, but I do not think it detracts from the beauty, and this blanket in particular is not itchy at all.
