FAQs

ARE ALL YOUR PIECES HANDMADE?

Yes! Each piece is handmade by Ashley Saville at her studio in Vermont.

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN AND REFUND POLICY?

Returns are not accepted - ALL ITEMS ARE FINAL SALE. Orders cancelled within 48 hours are eligible for a refund and subject to a $20 processing fee - no exceptions.

Please read all listings thoroughly and note that all OOAK pieces are created using repurposed vintage/antique textiles (some upwards of 100 years old!), and might show their age in the form of discolored, worn, or torn areas. We do our best to photograph pieces accurately, however it is possible for something to be missed. These potential markings are not viewed as defects, but rather pay homage to the previous life of the quilt and give character to each piece.

ANEMONE is not responsible for any wear and tear that occurs once you receive your piece - fabrics wear differently over time, which can cause your piece to change and develop more character - unfortunately, there is no way to determine how and when a piece will develop wear, and this is not viewed as a defect or at the fault of ANEMONE.

HOW BIG DOES MY QUILT NEED TO BE?

There is some variability based on the pattern of your quilt. That being said 60" x 70" is the minimum size requirement for the Chore Coat, though depending on desired size/length of your finished piece or if you are looking for a Shawl Coat, a larger quilt might be necessary. A quilt with larger dimensions never hurts though as it allows for more creativity with pattern placement! Please note that it must be a light to medium weight quilt (also known as summer weight) - HEAVYWEIGHT quilts cannot be used.

I'D LOVE ONE OF YOUR PIECES, BUT DON'T HAVE A QUILT. WHERE CAN I FIND ONE OR CAN YOU FIND ONE FOR ME?

Unfortunately not as I am so busy sewing, but searching for your perfect quilt is so much fun! There are a bunch of great accounts on instagram that sell quilts, as well as ebay and etsy - also don't forget to check locally at thrift and antique stores!

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR MY PIECE TO BE MADE?

Turn around times vary, but generally around 8-12 weeks.

I'D LIKE TO ORDER SOMETHING THAT ISN'T A STYLE YOU CURRENTLY OFFER - CAN YOU MAKE IT FOR ME?

Maybe! Feel free to contact me so we can discuss the possibilities!

WHAT IS YOUR SHIPPING POLICY?

All packages are sent via USPS. If you prefer a different carrier or shipping speed, or require insurance, I will do my best to accommodate at the buyer's expense. Please note that once a package has been scanned in by the carrier, it is no longer the financial responsibility of ANEMONE if lost in transit, stolen, or damaged.

CAN I BUY YOUR PATTERNS?

Patterns are not available for purchase, however there are many great pattern makers you can support!

HOW SHOULD I WASH MY QUILT CLOTHING?

I strongly advise against machine washing, and would highly recommend hand washing with a mild detergent and laying flat to dry. Antique and vintage quilts were not made to withstand the wear and tear of modern machine washing and drying.

DO YOU OFFER REPAIRS? WHAT IS THE COST?

Repairs are considered on a case-by-case basis and the cost will be determined upon return.
