This vest is made from a 19th century, wool-batted quilt that is both hand-pieced and quilted in a Twinkling Star pattern (with black thread!). It features a stunning array of fabrics in deep, rich jewel tones, and a range of textures including different wool, suiting, cotton fabrics, and more. The backing of this quilt was originally comprised of 4 panels made from two different types of fabrics, and while one remained intact, the other was entirely disintegrated. As such, it has been lined in a deep blue lining fabric, with the outer edge and pockets bound in a cozy brushed flannel herringbone.
It is possible this piece shows its age in places in the form of worn, slightly discolored areas, and/or mends - these are not viewed as flaws, but rather giving it character and showing its history. Please review all images as returns are not accepted - no exceptions.
