This kid’s Flora Jacket is made from a lightweight quilt that both hand-pieced and quilted in a Tumbling Star pattern, with the cheeriest, (perfectly faded) orange background. The edges are bound in an indigo floral fabric, with the hood lining and front plackets constructed from an organic cotton lightweight terry.
This quilt is well loved with fading and some fabric wear/thinning in areas. We made many mends to give this quilt a second life as a jacket, and hope you love the result as much as we do! Henry is modeling here; he is 54” tall and 70lbs, which particularly long arms.
This style jacket features a scooped side hem, bound edges, plackets and hood, antique brass snaps and handwarmer style pockets. This is the kid’s Flora Jacket pattern by Brightside Pattern Company that I pattern tested for them, and they were kind enough to grant me permission to make finished coats available to you!
It is possible this piece shows its age in places in the form of worn, slightly discolored areas, and/or mends - these are not viewed as flaws, but rather giving it character and showing its history. I have done my best to capture these areas in the photos, but is possible that not all are photographed. Please review all images as returns are not accepted - no exceptions.
