The Cocoon Coat is a straight-cut style with a shawl collar, exaggerated drop shoulder, a slight dolman curve to the underarm and wide sleeve, complete with inseam side pockets to slide your hands into. This coat features an antique Linsey-woolsey (cotton and wool) woven coverlet blanket in a rich chestnut brown, deep navy, and cream, woven by The Goodwin Guild of Southern Appalachia that has lovely drape and zero itch factor.
This coverlet is in very good vintage condition. Any areas that show wear are not viewed as flaws, but rather giving it character and showing it's history. I have done my best to capture these areas in the photos, but is possible that not all are photographed. Please review all images as returns are not accepted - no exceptions.
Measurements (taken flat across) - due to the oversized fit, this can accommodate a range of sizes - it is best to measure a coat you already own:
Chest (open style so very flexible): 26"
Sleeve (from top of the shoulder against the neck to sleeve opening - as a reminder, the sleeves have been left intentionally long for cuffing): 32” (as photographed, the sleeves measure approximately 28” when cuffed)
Length (from shoulder to hem): 31.5"
