This Flora Jacket is made from a midweight quilt that is hand-pieced and quilted in a Four X pattern. The backing is made from full feedsacks, and features a sunwashed teal and red sashing separating the Four X blocks. The outer edge of the coat and pockets are bound in a cream and floral fabric, as well as the inner collar. The sleeve openings are the original bound edges of the quilt, and the front plackets were constructed from portions of the feedsack border that I separated from the batting and backing, as well as the front pockets featuring the feedsack backing. This style jacket features a scooped side hem, bound edges, plackets and inner collar, antique brass snaps and oversized handwarmer style pockets. This is the Flora Jacket pattern by Brightside Pattern Company that I pattern tested for them, and they were kind enough to grant me permission to make finished coats available to you! The fit is oversized through the body with slimmer arms, and a stand up collar - a truly amazing fit!
It is possible this piece shows its age in places in the form of worn, slightly discolored areas, and/or mends - these are not viewed as flaws, but rather giving it character and showing its history. Please review all images as returns are not accepted - no exceptions.
