This midweight quilt came to me in two pieces - it has been cut in half, with the raw edge finished with a wide strip of antique feedsack fabric. It seemed as though it was maybe used to create matching crib quilts, but it was high time the two were reunited to create a wearable piece of art! The edges are bound in an indigo dot cotton, the hood lining a deep blue deadstock fabric from Toad & Co, and the front plackets made from the feedsack floral cotton fabric I salvaged from what was used to finish the raw edges of the crib quilts.
This style jacket features a scooped side hem, bound edges, plackets and self-drafted, lined hood, antique brass snaps and oversized handwarmer style pockets. This is the Flora Jacket pattern by Brightside Pattern Company that I pattern tested for them, and they were kind enough to grant me permission to make finished coats available to you! The fit is oversized through the body with slimmer arms, and a stand up collar - a truly amazing fit!
It is possible this piece shows its age in places in the form of worn, slightly discolored areas, and/or mends - these are not viewed as flaws, but rather giving it character and showing its history. I have done my best to capture these areas in the photos, but is possible that not all are photographed. Please review all images as returns are not accepted - no exceptions.
For reference, I am 5'7" and my body measurements are: 35.5" bust, 27.5" waist, 37" hips.
