This Flora Jacket is made from a lightweight quilt (with a little structure and cushy cotton batting) that is hand-pieced and quilted in a Lone Star pattern. I was fortunate enough to come across this unfinished quilt at a local in-person auction here in Vermont last summer - it was about 85% hand-quilted (with the thread and needle still attached!), and lots of discoloration throughout. She washed up beautifully and makes for a stunning jacket, and her inner collar, pockets, outer edge and sleeves are bound in my favorite dusty sage antique reproduction fabric, which ties the fabrics the original maker chose to you together in the best way. This style jacket features a scooped side hem, bound edges, plackets and inner collar, antique brass snaps and oversized handwarmer style pockets. This is the Flora Jacket pattern by Brightside Pattern Company that I pattern tested for them, and they were kind enough to grant me permission to make finished coats available to you! The fit is oversized through the body with slimmer arms, and a stand up collar - a truly amazing fit!
It is possible this piece shows its age in places in the form of worn, slightly discolored areas, and/or mends - these are not viewed as flaws, but rather giving it character and showing its history. Please review all images as returns are not accepted - no exceptions.
