This Flora Jacket is made from a lightweight quilt that both hand-pieced and quilted in a classic Lone Star pattern. The edges are bound in a floral indigo fabric, along with the pocket edges, and front plackets. This style jacket features a scooped side hem, bound edges, plackets and inner collar, antique brass snaps and oversized handwarmer style pockets. This is the Flora Jacket pattern by Brightside Pattern Company that I pattern tested for them, and they were kind enough to grant me permission to make finished coats available to you! The fit is oversized through the body with slimmer arms, and a stand up collar - a truly amazing fit!
It is possible this piece shows its age in places in the form of worn, slightly discolored areas, and/or mends - these are not viewed as flaws, but rather giving it character and showing its history. This quilt has been soaked and dried in the sunshine, however there is residual staining that didn't lift, along with some mends that have been made - some prior to coming to me, and some while preparing the quilt to be transformed into this jacket. I have done my best to capture these areas in the photos, but is possible that not all are photographed. Please review all images as returns are not accepted - no exceptions.
