A new take on the classic 5 panel hat: hand-crochet coverlet ediction! These hats feature a traditional plastic brim insert (that can be shaped if desired), sweatband inside, antique brass hardware, and an adjustable leather strap in the back.
I’ve been so fortunate to connect with people in my local community lately, serendipitously. This intricate hand crocheted coverlet in-progress came to me by someone who inherited it from her great grandmother; this piece dates back to at least the mid-19th century, and was made right here in Vermont. Judy (the great granddaughter, now in her 70s), just wanted to see this family heirloom used and loved, in whatever form that would take.
As this is an antique textile that has lived a full life before becoming a hat, it is possible it shows its history in the form of minor discolorations, and/or wear, these are not viewed as flaws but as characteristics of its past - sold AS IS. Please see photos as returns are not accepted.
