This Flora Jacket is made from a lightweight quilt that is hand pieced and quilted in a classic Grandmother's Flower Garden pattern. There is fading throughout (the greens have faded to my absolute favorite tone!) and softness to the fabrics from being used and washed over its lifetime. The edges are bound in a Japanese floral poplin cotton, with the front packets and inner collar constructed from cotton fabric salvaged from a men's Oxford work shirt.
This style jacket features a rounded side hem, bound edges, plackets and inner collar, antique brass snaps and oversized handwarmer style pockets. This is the Flora Jacket pattern by Brightside Pattern Company that I pattern tested for them, and they were kind enough to grant me permission to make finished coats available to you! The fit is oversized through the body with slimmer arms, and a stand up collar - a truly amazing fit!
As stated above and evident in images, this piece shows its age in places in the form of worn, slightly discolored areas, and/or mends - these are not viewed as flaws, but rather giving it character and showing its history. Please review all images as returns are not accepted - no exceptions.
