This Flora Jacket is made from a vintage Golden Dawn wool blanket that is in great condition, and in the most beautiful robin’s egg blue. The front plackets feature a lovely indigo blue shibori fabric remnant with the loveliest crinkle texture, with the inner collar and outer edges bound in 100% linen. Please note that this is a heavier weight blanket, and extra cozy!
This style jacket features a straight side hem, bound edges, plackets and inner collar, antique brass snaps and oversized handwarmer style pockets. This is the Flora Jacket pattern by Brightside Pattern Company that I pattern tested for them, and they were kind enough to grant me permission to make finished coats available to you! The fit is oversized through the body with slimmer arms, and a stand up collar - a truly amazing fit!
It is possible this piece shows its age in places in the form of worn, slightly discolored areas, and/or mends - these are not viewed as flaws, but rather giving it character and showing its history. This blanket has a nubby texture throughout, but I do not think it detracts from the beauty, and this blanket in particular is not itchy at all.
