This Flora Jacket is made from a lightweight quilt that is hand-pieced and quilted in an 'Economy Nine Patch' pattern. This quilt arguably features the happiest assortment of colors and patterns I've ever come across - all perfectly worn and faded to perfection. The outer edge, sleeves, pockets, and inner placket are constructed from a soft and beautiful olive toned Essex linen fabric, and the inner collar is pieced from the quilt's original border fabric which features the most fun 1940s fabric. I am particularly obsessed with the fabric that was used on two blocks, which I chose to prominently feature on the left front pocket, as well as on one square on the back. This style jacket features a scooped side hem, bound edges, plackets and inner collar, antique brass snaps and oversized handwarmer style pockets. This is the Flora Jacket pattern by Brightside Pattern Company that I pattern tested for them, and they were kind enough to grant me permission to make finished coats available to you! The fit is oversized through the body with slimmer arms, and a stand up collar - a truly amazing fit!conomy
