This Flora Jacket is made from a midweight quilt that is hand-pieced and quilted in a Duck & Ducklings pattern. The quilted blocks are comprised of many feedsack floral fabrics, set inside royal blue sashing and pink square blocks. The edges and pockets are bound in a rich burgundy linen-blend fabric, with the inner hood lined in blue cotton salvaged from a vintage men's dress shirt, and the front plackets constructed from a light blue woven linen.
This style jacket features a straight side hem, bound edges, front placket, and self-drafted hood that is fully lined, antique brass snaps and oversized handwarmer style pockets. This is the Flora Jacket pattern by Brightside Pattern Company that I pattern tested for them, and they were kind enough to grant me permission to make finished coats available to you! The fit is oversized through the body with slimmer arms, and roomy pockets - a truly amazing fit!
It is possible this piece shows its age in places in the form of worn, slightly discolored areas, and/or mends - these are not viewed as flaws, but rather giving it character and showing its history. Please review all images as returns are not accepted - no exceptions.
