This Flora Jacket is made from two vintage wool blankets sourced from Ukraine - the jacket itself is made from a beautiful burgundy floral blanket, with the collar and pockets constructed from the last bits of a rust toned floral blanket. The front plackets and inner collar are pieced from a lightweight textured plaid and floral fabric from our friends at Toad&Co, with the outer edges and pockets bound in a jewel-toned leaf print color fabric sourced from the local quilt shop located below my studio.
This style jacket features a straight side hem, bound edges, plackets and inner collar, antique brass snaps and bound handwarmer style pockets. This is the Flora Jacket pattern by Brightside Pattern Company that I pattern tested for them, and they were kind enough to grant me permission to make finished coats available to you! The fit is oversized through the body with slimmer arms, and a stand up collar - a truly amazing fit!
As this garment is made from antique/vintage textiles, It is possible this piece shows its age in places in the form of worn, slightly discolored areas, and/or mends - these are not viewed as flaws, but rather giving it character and showing its history. Please review all images as returns are not accepted - no exceptions.
