The Shaftsbury Shirt is our take on a classic “camp shirt”, its name being a nod to Lake Shaftsbury in southern Vermont, where I spent countless days as a kid splashing around, hiking, exploring, playing field games, building sand castles, and frequenting the snack shack, of course. Want to hear about my summer camp adventures? Well, that’s a story for another day.
This short sleeved (but not too short to cuff, if that’s your jam) shirt features an absolutely stunning cutwork embroidery 100% cotton coverlet. It has pearl snap closures, an open collar, and boxy fit. Instead of hemming the sleeves and bottom of the finished shirt, we left the original edge intact which only adds to the magic of this truly one-of-a-kind top.
As this garment was created from a vintage textile that has already lived a full life, it is possible it shows its history in the form of slightly discolored spots, mends and/or areas of wear/pilling. This contributes to the character of the garment, and serves as a reminder of the life the textile has lived, and are not viewed as defects. I do my best to capture all areas of note in photographs, however it is possible something could be missed; I am only human after all! Please see photos for overall condition as returns are not accepted - no exceptions.
