This Flora Jacket is made from a summer-weight 19th century quilt that is hand pieced and quilted in a Windmill pattern (similar to Ocean Waves) - there are extraordinary fabrics used on the quilt top, with a whole cloth backing that is equally stunning. There is wear to one of the fabrics in one location on the lower right back and a mend near the inner collar, but otherwise, remarkably intact for its age (there were highly damaged areas along the fold lines of the original quilt, but they were able to be worked around). The hood is lined in a deep plum tencel lyocell fabric, with the pockets and outer edges bound in an indigo floral. The front plackets are constructed from 100% linen that is woven in cream and olive tones, creating a heathered fabric.
This style jacket features a scooped side hem, bound edges, plackets and hood, antique brass snaps and oversized handwarmer style pockets. This is the Flora Jacket pattern by Brightside Pattern Company that I pattern tested for them, and they were kind enough to grant me permission to make finished coats available to you! The fit is oversized through the body with slimmer arms, and a stand up collar - a truly amazing fit!
It is possible this piece shows its age in places in the form of worn, slightly discolored areas, and/or mends - these are not viewed as flaws, but rather giving it character and showing its history. Please review all images as returns are not accepted - no exceptions.
For reference, I am 5'7" and my body measurements are: 34.5" bust, 26.5" waist, 37" hips.
