This Flora Jacket is made from a summer-weight 19th century quilt that is hand pieced and quilted in a Windmill pattern (similar to Ocean Waves) - there are extraordinary fabrics used on the quilt top, with a whole cloth backing that is equally stunning. The fabrics and quilt as a whole is remarkably intact for its age (there were highly damaged areas along the fold lines of the original quilt, but they were able to be worked around). The pockets and outer edges bound in an indigo floral. The front plackets are truly special - constructed from the last remaining bits of antique indigo deadstock fabric found at a local auction here in Vermont.

This style jacket features a scooped side hem, bound edges, plackets and inner collar, antique brass snaps and oversized handwarmer style pockets. This is the Flora Jacket pattern by Brightside Pattern Company that I pattern tested for them, and they were kind enough to grant me permission to make finished coats available to you! The fit is oversized through the body with slimmer arms, and a stand up collar - a truly amazing fit!

It is possible this piece shows its age in places in the form of worn, slightly discolored areas, and/or mends - these are not viewed as flaws, but rather giving it character and showing its history. Please review all images as returns are not accepted - no exceptions.

For reference, I am 5'7" and my body measurements are: 34.5" bust, 26.5" waist, 35.5" hips.

Chest (armpit to armpit): 24"

Length (top of the shoulder to bottom hem): 23"
