This dress features a unfinished quilt TOP that is hand pieced (it does not have batting or backing) in a Feathered Star pattern. It is 100% cotton and has been left unlined to keep it breezy and warmer weather appropriate. It is also a turn around style, so essentially two dresses in one! It also features inseam side pockets, because - always!
This was the very first dress I made in this style, and has been lovingly maintained in my personal collection - the fabrics are stunning and soft, the colors vibrant, and it's just such a truly special piece. I hope this brings you joy and makes you feel beautiful inside and out, just as it made me feel!
As this is made from a vintage/antique quilt top that has lived a full life before becoming a piece of wearable art, it shows it's age in the form of age discolorations and wear to some of the fabrics - this quilt top in particular does have these features - it has been thoroughly inspected with some seam repairs done, freshly hand washed and dried in the sun, and ready to be worn for seasons to come. These areas are viewed not as defects, but merely giving it character and a nod to it's past life. Please review the photos as returns are not accepted.
