This special romper features a unfinished quilt TOP that is hand-pieced (it does not have batting or backing) in a 'Double Squares' pattern. It is 100% cotton and I have lined the bodice, however the legs have been left unlined to keep it breezy, light and warm weather appropriate. It features a empire waist and extra wide legs, a side zip for ease of getting this piece on and off, complete with inseam side pockets, because - always! The Tate Romper pattern was created by my dear friend Kara of Small Museum, and I am honored to bring her pattern to life with this quilt top version!
As this is made from a vintage/antique quilt top that has lived a full life before becoming a piece of wearable art, it is possible it show it's age in the form of some discolorations and wear to some of the fabrics - this quilt top in particular in is very good condition aside from a few small age discolorations though they are pretty easily hidden in the billowy pants portion. These areas are viewed not as defects, but merely giving it character and a nod to it's past life. Please review the photos as returns are not accepted.
Measurements (sizing is flexible depending on desired fit):
Armpit to armpit: 17” flat across (double for circumference) and has a bit of room to accommodate a 36" or so chest
Straps: 7.75" when measured hanging from shoulder to where they attach to the bodice. These have been sewn down to suit my height (5'7"), but have an extra inch that can be let out, or can easily be shorted as well.
Rise (aka middle of bodice to crotch): 24"
Inseam: 26.75" For reference, I am around 5'7" and you can see in the photos that it is full length on me.
Body Length (Armpit to hem): 48"
A note that the hips are very accommodating due to the nature of the style, and the side zipper allows plenty of room for getting this on and off the body.
